About
Theater im Palais presents its in-house production "LINA MORGENSTERN – Wie eine Frau Berlin veränderte" as part of its series on Berlin personalities. After two years of research, author and filmmaker Gerhard J. Rekel brought the life of writer, women's rights campaigner and social activist Lina Morgenstern to the stage: she founded a charity, launched the first newspaper by women for women, organised the first International Women's Congress in Germany and became famous as "Suppenlina" for the Berlin soup kitchens she initiated. She is played by Alina Gause, who also composed the music, joined by Carl Martin Spengler and Dennis Weissert as her companions and adversaries.
