About
"The Shadows" is a theatre production by the Shieveh Theater Company from Tehran. Afsaneh Mahian's piece follows three people caught in fates between war, flight and loss, based on three real, documented stories. It links them to the ancient tragic figures of Jocasta, Antigone and Medea and asks questions of guilt, power and personal responsibility. The group, active for over 25 years, shaped the work through the team's lived experiences in Iran, and the performance runs 100 minutes.
