About

"I:RAN" is a theatre premiere at Theater unterm Dach. The piece by Patrick Khatami and Salome Dastmalchi deals with being in-between, with questions of origin and belonging and the supporting role of parents. It centres on longing for a country that exists only as a distant imagination, since travelling there seems too risky given the regime's brutality. Khatami, a so-called "German-Iranian" born in Germany who has never been to Iran, performs himself and contributed idea and concept.
