Iphigenies Rache

About
"Iphigenies Rache" is a theatre play by Lilly-Marie Vogler with her in the lead role, directed by Nils Strunk. Locked in her children's room, Iphigenie awaits her execution and tries to tell her story: it all began with her great-great-grandfather Tantalos and a family curse, and her father Agamemnon is meant to appease the wrath of the goddess by sacrificing his daughter. In her captivity, Iphigenie searches for a way out of a narrative that knows women only as victims, saints or witches. Vogler opens a new feminist chapter in the myth's 2,400-year reception history and relentlessly settles accounts with a male-dominated world.
