About
The feature film „Pieta“ [피에타] is being screened. Director Kim Ki-duk tells the story of Kang-do, who collects debts in a Seoul neighbourhood filled with small workshops and uses violence as his means. When a woman appears claiming to be his mother, he first rejects her brutally but gradually accepts her care. With this unfamiliar closeness comes a growing fear of losing her, as the consequences of his actions catch up with him.

Critics
6.9Good
Critics praise the intense lead performances, visual style and moral complexity, calling it powerful though hard to watch. They fault relentless brutality, lack of subtlety and a disappointingly conventional revenge-driven second half.
