"Transport: Tipping Point" is hyperrealistic puppet theatre in miniature format that takes the audience into a courtroom: the world's largest energy corporation is on trial, accused of sharing blame for one of the most devastating environmental disasters of recent times. The piece comes from the Czech ensemble Divadlo Alfa and is part of a six-part theatre series celebrated across Europe that explores mobility in a globalised world. Starting from the real case of an exploding oil rig in the USA, the documentary-style production reflects on a world in which greed, systematic negligence and our own consumer behaviour are fatally intertwined. Realistically designed miniature sets, 3D-printed figures and a 3D soundscape inspired by animated film create an immersive experience for the audience.
