About
Dua is a feature film about a 13-year-old girl in Pristina in the late 1990s who moves between friendship, first love and the challenges of growing up as political tensions intensify. It was made by Blerta Basholli, who draws on her own experiences during the Kosovo war. The film lets the political reality of Dua's life emerge through seemingly everyday moments: a teenager's party broken up by the police, conversations at home, time with friends and her growing interest in judo. When an incident shakes her community, Dua begins to see the violence around her with different eyes, while her family is confronted with the possibility of leaving Kosovo.
